New Life, New Hope...
The AUFMC has always believed that no one should be denied quality healthcare due to poverty.
One living proof of this is Gerald Medina, a four-month old baby boy from Guagua, Pampanga who was personally referred to AUFMC by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Baby Gerald suffers from a naso-orbital mass on the right side of his face. The condition was noted upon his birth on May 7, 2009 at the Lubao District Hospital. The mass measures 1centimeter at its widest diameter at that time. A cranial ultrasound of the affected area revealed the presence of a cystic lesion on the right naso- maxillary- orbital regions. Due to the involvement of the eye, Baby Gerald was referred to an ophthalmologist who requested for a CT scan, but due to financial constraints the parents failed to comply.
